Precautions when forging

 The forging process generally consists of the following processes, that is, selecting a good billet for feeding, heating, forming, cooling after forging. The forging process includes free forging, die forging and membrane forging. In the production process, different forging methods are selected according to the quality and batch of forgings.

Petrochemical Ring Forging: Forgings are used for petrochemical equipment. Such as spherical storage tank manholes, flanges, tube sheets required for heat exchangers, welded flanges for catalytic cracking reactor forging cylinders (pressure vessels), hydrogenation reactors, top covers, bottom covers, and heads required for fertilizer equipment.

Shaft components are one of the typical parts that are often encountered in machines. It is mainly used to support gears, pulleys, cams, connecting rods and other transmission components to transmit torque. According to different structural forms, shafts can be divided into stepped shafts, tapered shafts, optical shafts, hollow shafts, crankshafts, protruding shafts, eccentric shafts, many screws, etc. Precision forgings are mainly used to support transmission components, transmit torque and bear loads. Shaft components are rotating components whose length is greater than their diameter and generally consist of an outer cylindrical surface of a concentric shaft, a tapered surface, an inner bore, threads and corresponding end faces. Shaft components can be divided into optical shafts, stepped shafts, hollow shafts and crankshafts.

Before work, check whether the relevant electromechanical equipment, molds, tools, facilities and hydraulic pipelines are available, and lubricate the equipment, otherwise it cannot be used. The forging plant should preheat the hammer head, hammer shaft, mold and tools before working. Throwing material over long distances is strictly prohibited. Throwing materials at close range should be equipped with protective baffles. Ring forging billets shall not be thrown from sidewalks. For large ring forgings, it needs to be clamped with pliers and transported by car. Hand forging is carried out on an anvil with hand forging tools and is labor intensive.
