What is a car engine gear? The engine gear belongs to the camshaft, which is generally forged with high-quality carbon steel or alloy steel, or cast with alloy cast iron or nodular cast iron.

Camshaft toothed belt pulley is a powder metallurgy part widely used in various automobile engines. Through one-time molding and refinement process, it can fully meet the requirements of dimensional accuracy, especially the tooth shape accuracy, without other post-processing processes. Therefore, compared with the traditional mechanical processing method, the material input and manufacturing are greatly reduced, and it is a typical product that embodies the characteristics of powder metallurgy. Name of matching parts: automobile engine; camshaft, crankshaft timing pulley, water pump, oil pump pulley, driving and driven gear, driving and driven sprocket, cam, bearing cap, rocker arm, bushing, thrust plate, Valve guides, intake and exhaust valves, and gears for the low-speed case.

Camshafts are usually forged from high-quality carbon steel or alloy steel, and can also be cast from alloy cast iron or ductile iron. Journal and cam surfaces are heat treated and polished. Traditional camshafts are mostly cast or forged, and some are also cut from carbon steel. Cast camshafts mainly include chilled cast iron, quenched cast iron, etc. To save weight, some camshafts are core cast, making the shaft hollow. In recent years, camshafts in the form of remelted chilled cast iron and quenched ductile iron have been developed, but due to cost and other reasons, their application range is limited to individual fields.
